- ERIC VINCENT’S STUDENT CONCERT
Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day indeed this November for
local area high school students of French. Riding on the heels of
last year’s successful concert in Sarasota, French singer and
songwriter Eric Vincent from Paris graced our town once again with his
eclectic presence that day at the Pine View School. Organized by the
Alliance Française of Sarasota, the concert attracted five
hundred students of French from local area schools who thrilled to his
music, sang along with his songs and generally enjoyed a mad, happy
hour as Eric sang to the crowd and shared his love of French music and
culture. Student fervor produced “I love Eric” posters, T-shirts
tie-dyed in his honor, and screams and shouts as only teenagers can
produce; they stood up did “the wave” during the song “Il n’y a plus de
crocodiles à Cocody” and clapped during “Haiti” and “Mexico”,
sang in rounds for “Sème l’amour à tous ceux que tu
aimes”. Eric’s charismatic presence on the stage and his
familiarity with high school audiences makes for an excellent mix.
Students gathered round him after the concert for autographs and
pictures with great excitement and lots of stuttered French.
What was important to local schools is that Eric’s visit boosted the
flagging French programs, as students and teachers billed the morning
as a field trip to see a “French rock star”. He made everyone
look good, and enhanced the study of French to seem both relevant and
glamorous in today’s world.
Also the star of the pot luck that evening prepared for the adults of
the community, and acquiescing to his audience’s pleas, Eric sang three
songs from his forthcoming album. Needless to say, the adults
were equally dazzled.
Eric has been retained by the prestigious ACTFL Conference (American
Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) as the entertainment for
their venue in Boston in November 2010.

13 ans environ après, me voilà en train de taper à
tout hasard "Opération boule de neige" sur internet en ne
m'imaginant pas le flots de souvenirs que j'allais faire ressurgir!
Ouah, sacré aventure sur laquelle j'avais laissé passer
les années... Merci de continuer à faire vivre encore un
peu notre combat et notre enfance avec les quelques lignes et extraits
découverts sur votre site.! Merci aussi de nous avoir fait vivre
cette expérience! Je prend seulement conscience je crois de
l'ampleur qu'à pu prendre les choses et le petit poème
que j'avais écrit un soir de CM2, ne m'imaginant pas que vous le
garderiez en entier pour les paroles de la chanson ! Un bel hommage
à notre chère Mme PASTY, une institutrice
exceptionnelle. Je vous souhaite bonne continuation dans votre
carrière et suis
admirative de tous les pays que vous avez l'air de parcourir

Le 13 mars à
Korça, comme vous le savez déjà s’est
déroulé le concert de M. ERIC VINCENT. C’était
à l’honneur du théâtre de la ville de Korça
de lancer la saison du printemps francophone à Korça.
Plus de 300 spectateurs ont assisté à ce concert
d’ouverture du printemps francophone 2008. C’est un bon augure pour la
première saison qui démarre. Elle est riche en
manifestation, spectacle, activité culturelle et artistique, qui
s’ajouteront en cours de cette saison. C’est un invité
français qui fait l’ouverture, un des chanteurs très
connu de musique traditionnelle française, Eric Vincent. Les
spectateurs, des personnalités de la ville, le maire, le vice
maire, le consul grec, des représentants des chaînes
télévisées locales, des musiciens, historiens,
archéologues, architectes, peintres, médecins,
professeurs, enseignants, étudiants, et élèves de
la section bilingue. Avec sa musique M. Vincent nous a amené aux
quatre coins du monde, Haïti, Mexico, Afrique, Europe, France. Sa
carrière et sa vie musicale très riche et très
abondante nous ont fait connaître sa grande passion pour la
musique, pour les gens, la nature, la vie et le travail. Il a eu une
communication formidable avec le public et particulièrement avec
les jeunes. Ses disques ont été vendus et achetés
par une vingtaine de spectateurs.
Je
profite de remercier l’Ambassade de France et particulièrement
vous, Monsieur Doublier, de nous donner l’occasion d’accueillir
à notre ville un chanteur de telle dimension.

J'avais 14 ans, et éric
Vincent était à bord du bateau le "
marion dufresne" avec les réunionnais qui partaient en mission
sur les iles Kerguelen et mon père faisait partie de
l'équipe, il m'avait ramené une cassette d'éric
Vincent et une photo de lui dédicacée, par exemple la
chanson "sans famille" je m'en souviens très bien , "je suis
fatigué , fatigué".Dommage qu'il n'a pas
enregistré la chanson qu'il avait composé sur le "marion
dufresne," car je ne la retrouve pas sur son cd, ca aurait fait plaisir
à mon père. Merci à internet de m'avoir permis de
retrouver cet artiste au grand talent,d' une superbe voix. honorine

Thank you once again for the
incredible music experience you brought us from October 16th - October
17th! The time went so fast and it now seems hard to believe it
was all real but I must share with you that it was an incredible
experience for our students. Their reactions after the concert
were incredibly positive. I will try to send you some of their quotes
to show you how they reacted to the concerts. While it was a lot
of work for us to prepare the students for the concerts, I would do it
again in a second if the opportunity ever presents itself for you to
return to this area ! Thank you for sharing your warmth,
excitement and love for life with my students. We will probably
never know how important that visit was for many of them but I feel it
was a defining moment for many of them that will influence how they

Yesterday
night, I was invited by Alliance Francaise and Consul de France in
Denpasar to attend the concert of a singer from France : ERIC VINCENT..
which was held in the hall of institute of art in Denpasar.
Eric
sang more than 10 songs only with his guitar but he could hipnotyzed
all the audience.. he is a real composer, singer and also entertainer...

I had the pleasure of experiencing your music Friday October 28 in Duluth at the University of Minnesota. After a mundane day at the office (I am a computer geek) and some good hard physical labor around my home, I got to relax and enjoy an extremely enjoyable concert by you. From the moment my wife and I arrived, I knew I belonged there. I enjoyed the evening, tried to sing along and purchased an album w/autograph. I listened at home the next morning and I keep the album in the car for commuting and then it's in my office when I need to relax and enjoy life. My wife and I had a very nice evening and wish you a safe journey through life. You and your music is appreciated very much. Your connection with your audience was so very special. Thanks again...... Yes, Everyone should go see Eric Vincent ! I took students years ago and they really enjoyed his warm, charming personality plus his great music. He enonciates well so it is easy to understand what he is singing. The James Taylor reference really does suit him.
